Puerto Rican Santos came on strong in the second half of the fight to claim a unanimous 117-110 116-112 116-111 verdict from the three ringside judges. Kent-based Iranian Takaloo was hampered by cuts around both eyes and twice in the 10th round the referee came close to stopping the contest. Takaloo had started at a fine pace but relied too much on his heavy right hands.
