Bye bye Beijing

Britain's young athletes have returned from competing at the World Junior Championships in Beijing.

Chris Clarke (400m relay) and Sarah Holt (hammer) wrote diaries for the Sport Academy.

The third and final diary sees Sarah cheer on team GB to more medals and pick up a few strange souvenirs.

The last day of the championships was pretty full on. A visit from the British Embassy's charge d'affaires and plenty of action on the track.

It was great to watch as we picked up two more medals in an evening where we had quite a few finalists.

We all felt bad for Gianni Frankis who came seventh in the hurdles.

He is a great athlete but clipped a hurdle and lost his momentum. We knew he had a chance of a medal so he was pretty gutted.

We also watched the girls in the 4x100m relay in which my room-mate Hayley ran.

They were definitely a fast team, but they even admitted their changes weren't good enough and they came in sixth.

I'm pleased they got to the final though as they have worked really hard in practice.

Then it was on to the relays where the men's 4x100m came third and the men's 4x400m team did the same - two more bronzes for the GB team!

Rooney had a great run in the 100m relay to take the team into bronze medal position on the last few metres which was great for him and the team.

It looks like it made up a bit for not winning the gold in his individual race.

We've also heard that he ran a 44.27s relay split. This means he would have beaten the fastest relay split at the European Championships in Gothenburg.

I'm glad I have some souvenirs from my time spent with athletes from different countries

So that was great for him and I'm really proud!

Back to reality though and back to the slog of training.

I've missed my best friends from home and Loughborough here in Beijing but I'm really looking forward to a good winter's training.

In the winter you can really train hard and bury yourself in it.

In the summer you can't do as much hard work because you are always easing off for competitions.

Before leaving I managed to swap some kit with some of the athletes in my hotel.

I got some USA tights, and also kit from Australia and Canada who were on the same floors as us!

So I'm glad I have some souvenirs from my time spent with athletes from different countries.
