Nigel Armstrong wins final fell race of the season

The victory was Armstrong's second consecutive win on the Manx fells

Nigel Armstrong continued his outstanding late season form to win the final round of the Manx fell running league at North Barrule on Saturday.

Armstrong finished the 3.5 mile course one minute ahead of Simon Skillicorn to take his second consecutive victory.

Peter Bradley finished eight seconds behind Skillicorn in third.

Julie Cretney was the quickest woman in 1:01.09, while Cretney finished just one second ahead of Rachel Holden, with Caroline Caren third.

Meanwhile, Oliver Lockley was the fastest junior and seventh overall.

The final race of the series attracted a sizeable field of 38 runners.

3. Peter Bradley - 39:49
