Over 280 athletes will be putting their bodies to the test at next Sunday's 2010 Helston Triathlon. The number of entrants is the highest in the event's six-year history. The triathlon starts with a swim at Helston Sports Centre before a 16-mile cycle race around the Lizard followed by a 3.5 mile run. "This event gets more and more popular, attracting not only local athletes but competitors from across the country," Cornwall councillor Joan Symons said. "Helston triathlon is firmly on the map for serious triathletes."
