Derham is hoping to improve on her personal best of 68.63m in Berlin
Great Britain hammer thrower Zoe Derham has revealed she has had a bout of tonsillitis just a fortnight before the World Championships in Berlin.
The 28-year-old insists she will be fit in time to compete but confessed it has affected her training.
"Preparation has not gone as planned but hopefully when I get to the holding camp all my training will go to plan," she told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"Training would make the illness worse so I've done a lot of video analysis."
She added: "Me and my coach, Lorraine [Shaw], have been going through past performances and looking at technique that way, but it's going alright and things are looking fine so we're not worried really."
Derham has a week at the holding camp in Portugal before another week in Berlin ahead of throwing on Thursday, 20 August.
The Gloucester-based thrower is happy that there is still time to put in the work she needs to before competing.
"We're just going to treat it like it never happened, so we're still going to keep on our plan that we planned."
"I've only really missed three or four days of proper training, so it's not a drastic amount, it's just the fact that you've got to let your body recover."
