Waldron (centre) is looking for a place in the European Championships squad
Herefordshire's Sarah Waldron said she wants a place in the British under-23 European Championships team, after winning her first England senior vest.
Waldron, who won the Birmingham Cross Challenge race last month, has been picked to run for England in Belgium.
She told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "It's definitely a step in the right direction, when I achieve something I then want something more.
"I now want to make the GB under-23 team for the European Championships."
After missing out on selection for the European Championships squad by a matter of seconds in each of her two previous attempts, the runner, from Pudleston, said she plans to use her senior call-up in Belgium to fine tune her preparations.
"It's quite a flat course, which is very much like the course for the trials for the European Championships in Liverpool," she said.
"It's going to give me a really good base ahead of those trials.
"The race in Belgium is about six-and-a-half kilometres, which is roughly the distance of the trials, so hopefully this will be ideal preparation," she added.
Waldron admitted her surprise victory in Birmingham has helped her relax for the challenges ahead.
"As far as Liverpool and the trials are concerned, I will be going in with the same attitude that I had in Birmingham," she said.
"Now that I have got the confidence from the win in Birmingham I can work on keeping that and using it to my benefit in the trial race.
"I will be going in with much more of an advantage now that I have done the Birmingham race," she added.
