Ohuruogu won gold in Beijing thanks to a brilliant late surge |
Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu believes Team GB can improve on their medal haul from Beijing 2008. The 23-year-old world and Commonwealth champion won one of Britain's 19 gold medals in China. The East Londoner told BBC London 94.9: "I believe that we should have got more medals than we did and we didn't for whatever reason. "There is a lot more to come from the GB athletics team, it might not happen this year but it will happen soon." She added that she is hopeful of repeating her success at London 2012. "I hope so, it's a long way away and as athletes we are always looking to next year and that's the World Championships," she said.
"Our careers are so fickle that you don't know what will happen tomorrow let alone in four years' time. "So the main aim is to keep on being healthy, keep on being fit, keep on training and who knows what will happen in 2012."
