Derval O'Rourke won the World Indoor title in 2006 |
Derval O'Rourke has been forced to pull out of this weekend's Woodie's DIY Irish Indoor Athletic Championships in Belfast because of injury. O'Rourke told Athletics Northern Ireland on Tuesday that she had picked up a foot injury last week.
The World Indoor Champion's physio Ger Hartman has strongly advised against putting the foot under any significant pressure over the next two weeks.
On the plus side, Gareth Turnbull has entered the 3000m at the Odyssey Arena.

O'Rourke said that while she "deeply regretted" not racing in Belfast, she could not afford to jeopardise her key objectives for this year which include the Olympic Games.
The Cork woman was to have raced against British indoor record holder Sarah Claxton and former European Indoor silver medallist Jenny Kallur of Sweden.
Other top athletes competing in Belfast include current Olympic long jump silver medallist John Moffitt of the US.
The championships will also see James McIlroy competing over 1500m after his decision to move up this season from 800m.
