Paul McKee won a world indoor bronze medal in 2003 |
Paul McKee set a 100 metres personal best of 10.66 seconds at Saturday's British League meeting in Bedford and also claimed a victory in the 400m. McKee's winning time cut .06 off the 100m mark that he set in the British League meeting in Watford last month.
The Belfast man then eased to a 400m victory in 47.33 and alongside Leslie Young, Rob Daly and Ian Neilly, won the 4x100m relay in 42.2.
Michael Allen won the javelin in Bedford with a decent throw of 74.10m.
2003 world indoor bronze medallist McKee has been affected by injury and illness over the last three years but after his best winter and spring for some time, he will be hopeful of making claims for a place at the European Championship in August.
He still holds the Irish 400m record, outdoors and indoors, with times of 45.58 and 45.99.
McKee has already achieved the European Championship qualifying standard.
The Belfast runner will run the 200m at next Saturday's Northern Ireland Championships and then competes over 400m in Bratislava three days later.
