McKee ruled out of Irish Indoors
Paul McKee
Paul McKee won a world indoor bronze medal in 2003
Paul McKee will miss out on competing at the Irish Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast next weekend.

The 400 metres runner has been unable to train since suffering cold sores after a recent relay race in Glasgow.

McKee did race in Cardiff but "felt tired even before the race began".

"I was really looking forward to it but after two weeks of feeling run down I have decided to rest and get ready to prepare fully for the outdoor season."

The reigning World Indoor 400 metres champion, Alleyne Francique of Grenada, will take part in the event.
