James Nolan and Peter Coghlan have been added to Ireland's team for the European Indoor Championships. Nolan bettered the qualifying standard when he clocked 3:41.91 when finished fifth in the 1500m at a meeting in Madrid on Saturday.
The Offaly man will be back in the Spanish capital next weekend as part of a 16-strong Irish team.
Coghlan was added to the team after winning a 55m hurdles event in Clemson University in the US over the weekend.
Nolan, who won a European Indoor silver in 2000, finished fifth in a race won by Kenya's Daniel Kipchirchir.
The African clocked three minutes 34.59secs with Nolan staying with the second chasing pack.
Ballymena & Antrim sprinter Paul Brizzel will also be part of the Irish team but the country's big medal hope will be South African-born Alistair Cragg who is likely to go into the 3000m as the favourite.
