Ashia Hansen has confirmed she will compete in July's Norwich Union AAAs in Manchester, an event which doubles as Olympic qualifying. The triple jumper is almost assured of her place in the Olympic squad because she is top of the UK rankings.
However, she is keen to regain the British title she won in 2002.
"I missed out through injury last year so I want to be national champion again," said Hansen, who will also compete at the London Grand Prix.
The top two in each event at the AAAs will win a place at the Olympics, provided they achieve the qualifying standard.
But the GB selectors have the option of adding a third athlete, even if they do not compete in Manchester.
