Athletes risk no-show fines
| | UK Athletics is to fine some athletes who fail to compete in July's Olympic Trials & AAA Championships. The sport's governing body will dock promotional payments from athletes who attend one of three televised meetings but do not appear at the Trials. The system was introduced successfully for the indoor season this winter. Jon Ridgeon, of UKA's commercial agency Fast Track, said: "The aim is to get the very best field possible for the Olympic Trials & AAAs."
