Kenya names strong team
Paul Tergat
Tergat runs in London next April
World record holder Paul Tergat and women's world champion Catherine Ndereba have been named in Kenya's marathon team for the 2004 Olympics.

The line-up for Athens, to be finalised in January, also includes New York women's marathon winner Margaret Okayo.

Nine other athletes will compete for places in the men's squad, including New York men's winner Martin Lel.

The only other woman will be picked from Susan Chepkemei, Joyce Chepchumba and Beatrice Omwanza.

Tergat has confirmed that he will prepare for next year's Athens Olympics by running the London Marathon on 18 April.

He set a new world record of two hours, four minutes and 55 seconds at the Berlin Marathon in September.
