Holmes faces an anxious wait |
Kelly Holmes is due to have her leg injury assessed after she pulled up during the 1500m at Saturday's IAAF Super Grand Prix in Madrid. The calf problem is a big worry for Holmes and the Great Britain selectors ahead of next month's World Championships in Paris.
Holmes pulled up injured after two laps of the 1500m and left the stadium heavily bandaged from knee to ankle, but she is confident the problem can be overcome
"I've been here before," admitted the 33-year-old. "It is a case of living from day-to-day and something that is familiar.
"I picked up in the injury in pre-season training. It keeps coming and going and when it reared up again, I made the decision to stop running.
"Sometimes it can be okay. But I didn't want it snapping so pulled out as a precaution and sought treatment straight away."
