Montgomery will face Mark Lewis-Francis and Dwain Chambers |
Mark Lewis-Francis and Dwain Chambers are in confident mood ahead of their showdown with world 100m record-holder Tim Montgomery. Montgomery makes his first appearance in Britain this year at the Norwich Union International in Glasgow on 29 June.
He runs for the USA against Great Britain and Russia as part of his build-up for the World Championships in Paris in August.
Lewis-Francis, who stormed to victory over a high-class field in Ostrava on Thursday night, said, "I'm confident I can win for Britain."
"Beating Montgomery would be a big boost to my preparations for the World Championships."
Chambers, third in Ostrava, remains in confident mood despite an uncertain start to his season.
"Tim raised the bar for the 100m in Paris last September, but he'll have a tough job to beat me on home soil this year," he said.
Montgomery, who set a new world record of 9.78 seconds in Paris last year, said: "I'm looking forward to the match. It's always a pleasure to run in Britain and to represent my country against world- class opposition."
