Sarah Rigby has become the Island's first Grand Master Bowman, officially recognising her as being in the the top 1% of competitive British archers. Rigby achieved the classification after shooting the required scores at three consecutive UK record status events. She told BBC Isle of Man: "I was really delighted to achieve it. I missed out by a single point last year, so it was something I felt I needed to do." The classification is the highest standard in British archery. The Manx archer will represent the Island at the Commonwealth Games in the Compound Women's event in Delhi.  | This is not a one off, it comes from a great deal of talent dedication and hard work |
Isle of Man coach Peter Mumford added: "Sarah's achievements are terrific for Manx archery. She has raised the bar and it all bodes well for the Commonwealth Games." Rigby will be joined by Aalin George and Adrian Bruce in the Manx team, which will depart for India on the 25 September.
