Folkard has competed at two Olympics |
Naomi Folkard turned the tables on her GB team-mate Alison Williamson as she won the second leg of the Archery GB National Series at Lilleshall. Leamington's Folkard lost to five-time Olympian Williamson in the women's recurve final in May's first leg. But she reversed that finish as she won gold and Williamson silver this time. It means they share the lead in the overall standings, with three rounds still to go before the Grand Final, back at Lilleshall, in October. Britain's top three archers took the top three positions in the men's recurve, with Grantham's Simon Terry defeating Alan Wills in the final, and Larry Godfrey taking bronze. In compound, Nicky Hunt of Ipswich took the honours in the women's tournament, but Rikki Bingham goes top of the overall standings after finishing runner-up. She was third in the opening shoot of the series. Former world champion Chris White, from Rugby, won the men's tournament, beating Duncan Busby in the final. The top four finishers in each discipline, after five rounds, go through to the Grand Final.
