Britain's top bowmen gather in Evesham this weekend for the first round of the inaugural GB Archery National Series.
More than 200 archers, including Paralympic gold medallists John Stubbs and Danielle Brown, will compete against Olympians such as Simon Terry.
There are five rounds throughout the summer with the top four in the men's and women's standings advancing to a Grand Final at Lilleshall on 4 October.
Organiser John Nott said: "A domestic tournament can raise our standards."
The competition is based on the Fita World Cup series where the top archers after four rounds of competition around the world advance to a grand final.
"You only have to look at the performances of the top archers at the World Cup to see how that competition has elevated standards to a new high since it was launched in 2006," said Nott.
"For the elite archers it is a wonderful opportunity to take part in a serious competition without having to go abroad.
"But it will also be a fantastic opportunity for the up and coming archers to make a name for themselves."
Archers must enter a minimum of three of the five tournaments, with their best three scores counting.
Round two will be held at Lilleshall on 27-28 June, with subsequent events at Haworth, West Yorkshire on 11-12 July and Exmouth, Devon on 21-22 August, before returning to Lilleshall for the final round on 26-27 September.
The top archers will then return to Lilleshall the following week for the Grand Final.
