Huddersfield bring in Bailey
Julian Bailey (number four) is taken out by the Bulldogs defence
Bailey can play second row, wing or centre
Huddersfield have signed Australian utility player Julian Bailey from the Newcastle Knights.

Bailey is the Giants' first new recruit since they regained Super League status with Saturday's NFP Grand Final win over Leigh.

The 24-year-old Australian made his last appearance for the Knights on the wing three weeks ago.

Bailey has been bought in as Huddersfield's overseas quota has expanded.

The Giants already boast Australian acquisitions Brandon Costin and Jim Gannon as well as New Zealander Ivan Cleary.

Huddersfield coach Tony Smith is certain former Australian schoolboy international Bailey will be a useful addition to the squad.

"He's a very versatile player, capable of playing in a number of positions, and has excellent all-round skills," he said.

A trio of forwards, Heath Cruckshank, Jim Molyneux and Andy Rice, have all been released by the Giants.
