A former leading amateur Flat jockey and champion lady rider, Clare began her BBC career with Radio 5 in 1993, presenting the racing bulletin on Danny Baker's Morning Edition.

She succeeded Julian Wilson as BBC TV's racing presenter in December 1997.

And she quickly developed a popular on-screen partnership with legendary jockey Willie Carson.

Clare also presents the BBC's rugby league coverage and works for Radio Five Live at Wimbledon.
