Australia took an unassailable 3-0 lead over Morocco after Saturday's doubles match in the Davis Cup World Group play-off in Perth. Wayne Arthurs and Todd Woodbridge beat Mounir El Aarej and Mehdi Tahiri 7-6 7-6 6-3 to seal the victory.
Russia were the second team to secure their World Group place as they took a 3-0 lead over Thailand.
Marat Safin and Mikhail Youzhny beat Sonchat Ratiwatana and Sanchai Ratiwatana 6-2 6-1 6-4 in the doubles.
And Chile joined them soon after when they took a 3-0 lead in their match against Japan. Olympic champions Nicolas Massu and Fernando Gonzalez won the doubles rubber against Takao Suzuki and Thomas Shimada 6-3 6-3 6-1.
Germany took a 2-1 lead against Slovakia in Bratislava as Tommy Haas and Alexander Waske beat Dominik Hrbaty and Karol Kucera 3-6 3-6 6-3 6-4 3.
Croatia wrapped up their encounter with Belgium in Zagreb when Mario Ancic and Ljubicic beat Dick Norman and Kristof Vliegen 6-7 (8-10) 6-4 6-7 (1-7) 6-3 7-5 for a 3-0 lead.

The Czech Republic also won their rubber when Jiri Novak and Radek Stepanek beat Paulo Carvallo and Ramon Delgado of Paraguay 6-2 7-5 6-3.
Canada kept their hopes alive of a win over Romania in Bucharest as Daniel Nestor and Frederic Niemeyer beat Victor Ionita and Florin Mergea 4-6 4-6 6-2 2-6 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
In Melbourne, Arthurs defeated El Aarej 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 6-3 and Hewitt eased past Tahiri 6-0 6-2 6-2 in Friday's singles.
And Hewitt became Australia's most successful Davis Cup player ever with his record 25th win in the competition.
Woodbridge: "They served really well and we were having trouble making some returns and they weren't scared. Even yesterday they played that way and good on them.
"They performed admirably for their country and well done."
Australian captain John Fitzgerald also praised the Moroccans for regrouping after losing their top players Younes El Aynaoui and Hicham Arazi through injury.
"I take my hat off to them, they came here and fought hard," he said.
