Moya takes Copa title
Carlos Moya
Moya's win in Argentina is his first title of the year
Copa AT&T in Buenos Aires

An out-of-sorts Carlos Moya defeated Guillermo Coria to win the Copa AT & T tournament in Argentina 6-3 4-6 6-4.

The top seed's victory was littered with unforced errors but experience told in the final set when his more astute tactics finished off Coria.

Moya quickly took a 3-0 lead in the first set and it looked as though he would make short work of his Argentine opponent.

But then the Spaniard started making errors - a pattern which would be repeated throughout the contest.

The world number four was lucky to hold on to the first set but he rallied at the start of the second, displaying some skillful crosscourt shots.

However, at 3-1 up Moya's control slipped again and he allowed Coria, backed by his home crowd, to level the set at 3-3.

The 21-year-old Argentine went on the attack, successfully breaking Moya in the 10th game to steal the set.

The decisive third was a tense and edgy affair and both players raised the quality of their tennis, wowing the crowd with some glorious long rallies.

But it was Moya who finally got the upper hand, breaking Coria to seal victory and walk away with the 39,000 cheque.
