Marsh says he is mentally ready |
Tony Marsh admits France have taken a risk by picking him for the Rugby World Cup. The 31-year-old centre made Bernard Laporte's squad despite undergoing chemotherapy for testicular cancer and then suffering a torn calf muscle.
"I've only had four rugby sessions in the last 11 months," Marsh told l'Equipe newspaper.
"I've got a lot of work to do to get to the same fitness levels as the rest of the squad.
"The staff took a risk picking me and it's put extra pressure on me to get back to my old form... I'll do everything to be ready.
"I'm 100% ready mentally. I don't think about my illness any longer. It's in the past."
