Tim Swinson has become the latest player to commit his future to Newcastle Falcons.

The 22-year-old lock forward, who made his debut in March last year, has agreed a new two-year deal.

Swinson said: "The club is showing a great deal of ambition, everybody is working hard and I'm looking forward to playing my part."

Director of rugby Steve Bates said: "Tim is an outstanding young prospect who has made a big impact this season."

Bates added: "It's great news that he has agreed a new deal for another two years.

"His work rate around the park is phenomenal, he is a real team player and is learning all the time under the guidance of Stuart Grimes and Ian Peel in the forwards."

Micky Young and Alex Tait have both recently signed new deals at Kingston Park, while All Black Carl Hayman also insists he wants to stay.
