Leicester chairman Peter Tom expects to have a new coach in place by late June.

"We need to be ready for the new season and are hoping to announce a decision in the next two to three weeks," Tom told BBC East Midlands Today.

And, while he accepts sacking coach Marcelo Loffreda seemed harsh, Tom said it had to be done. "We have to accept rugby is a professional game," he said.

"As a board we aspire to be the best club side in the world and we make decisions based on that."
