Its obvious Alistair Campbell is involved. 24 hours after praising the contribution of the Welsh contingent, Woodward is wielding the axe.

Sir Clive Woodward has declared his intentions for the first Test by naming his side for Tuesday's game against Southland. Among those unlucky to miss out on the Test are Gavin Henson, Chris Cusiter, Geordan Murphy and Matt Stevens. That suggests Jonny Wilkinson will start in the first Test team, while Ryan Jones has played himself into the 22 with his barnstorming display against Otago. 1419 BST Philip, Bahrain, via email
I have watched all the games on the TV either in Bahrain where I live or Saudi Arabia where I work. So far I am delighted at the Lions progress and can only see a Lions Test series win. From reading comments in this blog it appears the NZ press are playing their usual mind games, slating the Lions while undermining the All Blacks in the progress. If that isn't bad enough, we have one of our own in JPR Williams criticising Sir Clive Woodward and his potential selections. The best man got the job to manage this tour and history, not the NZ press and JPR, confirm the appointment as the correct one. 2-1 to Lions.

Former All Blacks Frank Bunce and Alan Whetton have lamented the death of rucking which they say would have stopped players killing the ball. "It was to be expected if you got caught on the wrong side you would get a working over. I still have some of the scars," said Whetton. Oh for the good old days. 1206 BST Ian Jones, Radio Five Live
The closer it gets to the first Test, the more worried New Zealand as a country is getting. We haven't seen any settled pattern, game plan or team from the Lions - Sir Clive Woodward's been very cagey. But New Zealand are also some way from finalising their XV for the first Test. That Test is the most crucial - it sets the tone. The Lions will try to suffocate us but, if we can secure enough ball out wide, we should do it. If the All Blacks win the first Test, I see them winning the series 3-0. If they don't, I still think it'll end up 2-1 to them. 1124 BST Richard, Auckland, via email
I went to the games against Bay of Plenty and Waikato. While we have yet to really hit form, there have been a lot more positives than what the New Zealand media would have us believe. In the last two matches we have completely dominated the scrum, had the upper hand in the line-outs and more than competed at the breakdown. And our defence has been excellent. Admittedly, out wide we have squandered some good opportunities, wasted quality ball and looked like a group of players who have only just met. But the Lions will not win this Test series out wide - the All Blacks have far too much pace and ability for us to prosper there. We need to stick to doing what we do well and rely on the All Blacks to choke in the big games as they have done for the past six years.

Are the Lions cheating? Some, including Otago coach Wayne Graham and his captain Craig Newby, think so. Newby was very vocal on the matter after the match and halfback Danny Lee backed his captain's comments on TV in New Zealand on Sunday. He claimed the Lions were deliberately slowing the ball down to enable them to set up their defensive line. Expect the referees in the Tests to be under intense pressure to police the breakdown. A few yellow cards will put an end to it. 0957 BST Will Carling, Radio Five Live
I'm surprised at Gavin Henson being named in the midweek side and thus missing out on Test selection, I really am. So I guess that means Jonny Wilkinson will end up starting at inside centre for the Lions. But I think Clive wants to keep people guessing over Henson and the rest of the Test line-up. But I'm sure he's known for a few weeks what his ideal line-up is. My only real concern is the players have not had enough game time and I hope that doesn't come back to haunt Clive.

Boring, uninspiring and dull. That's what the 2005 version of the British and Irish Lions are quickly exposing themselves to be after another dreary performance in beating Otago 30-19 on Saturday. As a Test shakedown, there wasn't much gain at The House of Pain for Sir Clive Woodward. Woodward's side are playing like rusty rifles - misfiring when the pressure goes on. Their defence is sound, as it was again on Saturday, thanks to the influence of Phil Larder. But the famed men in red look hesitant in attack to the extent they project the appearance of being disorganised - a red rag to the bull New Zealand provincial rugby is proving itself to be. 0706 BST: Lions centre Will Greenwood
Andy Robinson said something interesting to me on Friday. He talked about the 1989 Lions tour to Australia and the team captained by Ireland lock Donal Lenihan, when they tried to push as many players as possible from the perceived midweek team to the perceived Test team. It was our job against Otago to take the baton from Wednesday's performance against Wellington, and try to put as many players into the hat as possible. 0624 BST: Jonathan Davies writing in the New Zealand Herald
I'm not happy about the refereeing. There is no doubt the decisions have been favouring the provincial sides so far. They tend to balance out by the end of the game but, at key moments and at crucial times, the decisions seem to be going against the Lions. I would expect Sir Clive Woodward to let everyone know he will be watching very carefully when the Tests come along. Let the mind games begin. 0427 BST: Keith, Wellington, via email
I have to concur with the reports of the most arrogant, ignorant group of people in rugby - the New Zealand press and commentary team. Compare their slating of anything the Lions do as cheats, whinging or lacking in any kind of ability with the utmost respect that the All Blacks are held. It is no wonder the NZ public have been convinced they have a God-given right to win rugby matches and hence their reaction every World Cup when they don't.

I've spent the last few weeks following the games on BBCi. For the first Test, it will be down to central Philly at 0310 our time. I'm then heading down to New Zealand for the last two Tests.

The Sunday News here in Dunedin leads with the headline "Cheats!" and quotes Otago captain Craig Newby as saying "they cheated, they slowed our ball down" and of course we're the whinging Poms!? Not the best of games last night but the atmosphere was electric in Dunedin and the celebrations went off peacefully well into the night.
