Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs overcame Nottingham at Welford Road to make it 10 out of 10 from their opening Championship games.

Exeter scored three tries in the first half to lead 28-6 at the break and added two in the second period through Chris Budgen and James Scaysbrook.

Chiefs fly-half Gareth Steenson added 17 points with the boot.

Nottingham crossed late on for a consolation try when Jack Cobden touched down but the visitors claimed the winning bonus point.

The Chiefs are now seven points clear at the top of the Championship table, whilst Nottingham slip to third.

Next up for Exeter is a derby game against the Cornish Pirates at Sandy Park on 14 November.
