Cornish Pirates have announced the signing of two new players to join their development squad next term. Tight-head prop James Currie joins from Bristol club Dings Crusaders, while centre Grant Pointer has been snapped up from Loughborough Students. Currie, 20, was born in Plymouth and is a former England Under-16s and Under-18s international. Pointer, 22, is the second Loughborough player to sign for the Pirates, following the arrival of Phil Burgess. Pointer has been a member of Northampton's senior academy and has also represented England Students. Cornish Pirates high performance manager Chris Stirling said: "We are very pleased to have gained the services of both James and Grant. "They will add to the Pirates squad both on and off the field and we look forward to welcoming them to Cornwall."
