Higgins has started the season in good form |
John Higgins secured his place in the final of the LG Cup with a comprehensive victory over John Parrott on Saturday. The world number four raced into a 4-0 lead at Preston's Guild Hall and eventually wrapped up the match 6-2.
Higgins, who is aiming to win his first ranking title in two years, notched up breaks of 61, 58, 81 and 52.
Parrott had surprised fans by reaching the last four of an event for the first time since 2001.
"I feel a 100 times better than I have for the last two years," said Higgins, who now meets either Ken Doherty or Mark Williams in Sunday's final.
"I'm hitting the ball well and I feel I've got to prove a lot this year. Whoever I play in the final, I think I'm in with a great chance," Higgins said.
