The women's quadruple sculls team are out to defend their title in Eton |
Great Britain Rowing has announced the first wave of selections ahead of next month's World Championships in Eton. Andy Hodge, Alex Patridge, Steve Williams and Peter Reed aim to defend their coxless four crown on home soil.
Katherine Grainger, Frances Houghton and Sarah Winckless team up with Debbie Flood as they set out the defence of their women's quadruple sculls title.
There are also high hopes for Alan Campbell in the single scull event after he clinched the World Cup crown.
The Northern Ireland rower's battling performances this season saw him topple Olympic champion Olav Tufte and world champion Mahe Drysdale in the standings.
Annie Vernon and Anna Bebington, who also took World Cup honours, will also be ones to watch in the double sculls.
Great Britain team manager David Tanner has set his target at a modest three medals but added, "I am overcautious."
The Eton event is the first time that Britain has hosted the championships in 20 years.
