The light blues of Cambridge pull away from Oxford to win in 2004

The Dark Blues will have an advantage of over a stone and a half per man with their average oarsman at 15st 6.5lbs.

The heaviest will be Oxford's 6ft 7in American Jason Flickinger at 16st 7.9, who won a coxed fours World gold.

Cambridge conceded almost a stone a man two years ago but lost by only a foot in the closest recorded finish.

"There is going to be a pretty big difference," Cambridge coach Robin Williams admitted.

"It will be significant but that great race of two years ago showed that the advantages can be cancelled out and we will have to find our ways of making up for that difference.

"We are in pretty good shape, the boat is moving really well."

Oxford counterpart Sean Bowden said: "We have a big, strong, tall crew and that is clearly an asset to us, we still have to work really hard but we have made a lot of progress."
