Moscow Flyer and Geraghty jump the last |
Moscow Flyer won the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the feature race of the second day at the Cheltenham Festival. The 7/4 favourite was allowed to stroll to the title after the other leaders, Latalomne and Seebald, fell at the second last fence.
The nine-year-old, trained by Jessica Harrington, was never in any danger of losing from there as jockey Barry Geraghty picked up his third win of the Festival.
Second was last year's runner-up Native Upmanship, with Cenkos third.
"I had the two of them that fell beaten," said Geraghty.
The winning trainer was slightly less bullish about the victory.
"Barry was a bit worried at the ditch but he said he was very good after that," said Harrington.
"It's been a long winter but we are here now."
The fall of Latalomne meant more misery for jockey Vinnie Keane, who experienced the same fate at last year's race.
"It was terrible again, I can't believe it," he said.
"He jumped so well today, all the way he jumped brilliantly. He seemed to jump the fence all right, he just knuckled over on landing."
