Frank Schleck made his mark with a powerful display to win last year's Gap to Alpe d'Huez stage.
Once again he will start the Tour riding in support of Carlos Sastre's effort but should the Spaniard fail to produce then CSC will most likely look to the Luxemburger to lead the team's challenge.
Having recovered from two cracked vertebrae, Schleck will want to make sure he is not eclipsed by his younger brother Andy, who shone at the Giro and is perhaps more talented.
Frank, 27, remains a potential champion but his hopes this year will probably be limited to a top-10 finish and a win in the mountains.
