Sheffield Sharks narrowed the gap on BBL league leaders Newcastle to two points following an overtime win over Everton Tigers at the EIS on Monday. The Sharks led 93-86 in the closing stages of the fourth quarter, but a Trey Moore three-pointer sparked a 7-0 run by Everton to end regulation 93-93. Overtime saw the two sides trade the lead before a 13-1 burst by the Sharks closed out the game at 110-102. Sharks' Mike Cook led all scorers with an impressive 36 points. Everton had been looking to build on Saturday's 107-89 victory over Worthing Thunder in the BBL Championship. The win over the south coast outfit was the Tigers' first in four matches as they look to secure a play-off place. Jerome Gumbs was Everton's top scorer with 24 points while James Jones was just behind on 20 points.
