Sheffield 110-102 Everton

Basketball

Sheffield Sharks narrowed the gap on BBL league leaders Newcastle to two points following an overtime win over Everton Tigers at the EIS on Monday.

The Sharks led 93-86 in the closing stages of the fourth quarter, but a Trey Moore three-pointer sparked a 7-0 run by Everton to end regulation 93-93.

Overtime saw the two sides trade the lead before a 13-1 burst by the Sharks closed out the game at 110-102.

Sharks' Mike Cook led all scorers with an impressive 36 points.

Everton had been looking to build on Saturday's 107-89 victory over Worthing Thunder in the BBL Championship.

The win over the south coast outfit was the Tigers' first in four matches as they look to secure a play-off place.

Jerome Gumbs was Everton's top scorer with 24 points while James Jones was just behind on 20 points.
