Sullivan's late free throw helped Eagles to the BBL Trophy final

Newcastle Eagles reached their sixth BBL Trophy final in a row with a 185-176 aggregate defeat of Everton Tigers on Friday.

Late free throws from Andrew Sullivan and Joe Chapman, who scored 22 points, saw off a Tigers revival on a night of back and forth action on Merseyside.

Tigers made a good start to the tie, leading 49-39 at the half-way stage.

However Chapman ensured Fab Flournoy's side, who won the first leg 89-85, remain on course to retain the trophy.

Eagles await the result of the second leg between Milton Keynes Lions and Cheshire Jets, with the Lions ahead after the first-leg.
