Tigers rally support for big day

Basketball

Everton Tigers are preparing for their first major cup final as they face Plymouth Raiders at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on Sunday.

The Tigers beat Newcastle Eagles to reach the BBL Cup final and Blues vice-chairman Martyn Best wants plenty of noisy support from the club's fans.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for all basketball fans to come along and show their support," said Best.

"The team need everyone making as much noise as possible."

Best added: "It could be an historic day for the Tigers and, if we do win, I'm sure as many fans as possible will want to be there as we walk away with the silverware."

Tickets for the final are on sale and Everton are providing free coach travel to those supporters who have a ticket for the event.

Tickets and free coach travel available from the Everton box office, with coaches leaving from Goodison Park at 1000 GMT on Sunday.
