Flournoy has won eight trophies since joining the Eagles in 2001 |
Newcastle coach Fab Flournoy has told his side he expects them to maintain their form despite Sunday's 108-101 BBL title win against Guildford Heat. "When you get caught up in winning and celebrating you take your eyes off the prize - save that for the off-season," he told BBC Radio Newcastle. "Hats off to Milton Keynes, but when they won the cup they then lost three or four games in the League. "I want to win every game. I don't want to go into the play-offs on a downer." Flournoy is adamant that the best teams are those who can show consistency as well as big game nerves. "It's like the NBA - the team that has the best record, they win the league and they get the privilege," he said. "But the team that everyone praises is the team that wins the play-offs - the teams that show up on the day."
