A long shot? The top GB archers train at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre, in Shropshire. They do not normally train outdoors in winter - and when they do, it is by an old shed and not on this picturesque lawn!
There is a big difference in the distance archers are required to shoot according to whether they are outdoors or not.
If they are in the open, then the distance from archer to target is a massive 70m. If they are indoors, it is just 18m, but the targets are much smaller.
If you are 18m away, the target has a 40cm face. Outdoors over 70m, the target has a 122cm face.
