Gordon Crockard
Gordon Crockard claimed fifth place in the opening race
Gordon Crockard claimed fifth place in the opening race at Sunday's Motocross Grand Prix of Ireland at Desertmartin.

The winner was world champion Stefan Everts of Belgium who was seeking his 100th GP career triumph.

Everts, however, was denied by New Zealand's Josh Coppins who won the second race by a margin of 25 seconds to clinch overall victory.

Newtownards man Crockard got caught up in a tangle at the third corner and later retired in that race.
