Webber drove through the pain to finish in 12th place |
Williams' Mark Webber needed medical treatment following Sunday's French Grand Prix after being exposed to cockpit temperatures of 80c. The Australian had treatment on a hip injury at the trackside, having managed to keep his composure and finish 12th.
"I got through as I wanted a qualifying slot for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone," said Webber.
"It hurts a fair bit but there's no question of it stopping me racing next weekend, no way."
The fault which caused the problem has been identified and a solution has been found in time for next week's race.
A team spokesman admitted Sunday's 12th and 14th place finishes for Webber and Nick Heidfeld had been disappointing, considering their FW27 cars were using new bodywork aimed at improving their aerodynamic downforce.
But he said it was just teething trouble, and the team were confident the benefits would soon become clear.
"It's analogous to walking a tightrope without a safety net, you might fall off but you dust yourself down and get back on," he said.
"It's a better approach than doing nothing at all and we're entirely comfortable with the approach to take risks.
"We're confident the 'Mark II' bodywork will yield significant advantages."
