| Brotherton's Tour moment: Prologue Millar gets back on his feet after his fall Throughout the Tour de France Simon Brotherton is providing daily race reports for BBC Five Live and he is also giving Sport Online his Tour moment of the day. There's only one candidate for moment of the day, even though French television didn't provide the pictures for us to see it on the finish line. David Millar's crash on the penultimate corner denied him the chance to repeat last year's victory when he claimed the yellow jersey in Futuroscope. Hopes of first place turned to the reality of 110th, some 42 seconds down. It may have been a puncture, it may have been a misjudgement - such was his disappointment he declined to elaborate at the time. One thing is for sure, it wasn't what he or we had in mind. Shades of St Brieuc in 1995 with Chris Boardman perhaps? |
