After Sunday's long stage in the rain I was shattered.

I crashed out at the hotel last night and on Monday morning I still felt really tired so I wasn't in a very good mood.

I also found out the official split times for the Dunkerque TT.

It turns out I was three seconds up on Lance's time at 3km to go.

I was holding back for the finishing straight as well even though I was obviously going too fast round the final bend! Gutted - I'll have to wait another year now.

I decided to conserve as much energy as possible today ahead of Tuesday's nightmare stage so I stayed at the back again.

I'm really not looking forward to the mountains.

It will be crunch time - if I can just make it up the Alpe d'Huez it will be a serious weight of my mind.

It's a 10.30 start so I'm going to get a very early night!
