One day at a time
In the latest of his BBC Sport Online Tour de France diaries, David Millar says he started the team time trial badly but was flying by the end.

After the nightmare I had yesterday I was really hoping for some improvement this morning - unfortunately I felt even worse.

I could hardly ride around the village and there was serious concern about the situation.

It was the team time trial today so I really needed to be on good form to help the team.

We went first and for about the first 40km I wasn't going well at all, it wasn't good.

I was flying

Thankfully things improved dramatically in the last 20km and I was flying.

I dropped back in the last 3km and let the other guys ride it in - no point in pushing it too hard at the end.

The important thing was that I was riding well towards the finish.

I've just got to take things one day at a time at the moment because I thought I felt better a couple of days ago and then it went horribly wrong.

Completely out of it now

Let's just see how it goes tomorrow on the Commercy to Strasbourg stage.

It should be OK, apart from the bitch of a climb towards the end.

Feeling completely out of it now back at the hotel. All we can do is sit around and relax but it is quite boring.

I'm sleeping really well which is a little unusual but I think it is because I am so screwed. Out like a light..."
