How to line up your body

If you want to hit the target, you must be pointing in the right direction.

Imagine you are standing on a railway track.

Your club head should point along one line directly at the target, while your feet should point on a parallel line but slightly left of the target (right if you are left-handed).

There is one simple way to test this.

Address the ball as if to strike it, then lay the club across the tips of your toes.

It should point along the inside rail.

The club face should point along the outside rail.

In order to keep this line as you swing, pick a blade of grass or divot a few feet in front of you that is on the target line.

And aim at that rather than the distant spot.
