Chris Wood has set his sights on a place in the end-of-season Dubai World Championship at Jumeirah in November.
The 21-year-old has all but secured his card for next season after a fifth-placed finish at the European Open and is now reassessing his priorities.
"I've pretty much secured my card for next year. That's come pretty early and I've no stresses now for the rest of the season," he told BBC Points West.
"Now I've done it I can push towards getting into the top 60 for Dubai."
Despite securing his highest professional finish in his 22nd event, Wood was frustrated not to have secured a first victory.
"I'm quite disappointed," he added. "I was leading at one point, but never really gave myself enough chances in the final round to stay there, or move away from the field."
A lot came to me after The Open and it was a lot to take all at once, but I feel like I've dealt with it all pretty well and got used to it quite quickly

Wood burst on to the scene as an amateur last season with a fifth-placed finish at The Open and after turning professional came through Qualifying School to secure his place on the European Tour this term.
And after back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Irish and European Opens, Wood needs just one more top-10 finish during the year to guarantee his Tour card for 2010, which was his main goal at the start of the campaign.
His efforts at the London Club saw him climb 19 places to 70th in the Race for Dubai, the end-of-season showpiece event on the European Tour for which only the top 60 qualify.
And Wood, who will line up at the Wales Open on Thursday, now feels he belongs in the professional ranks after a difficult start.
He said: "I struggled just after Christmas until about April when I couldn't really get into many tournaments, and the ones I could get in I was practicing here at Long Ashton Golf Club in frost and ice and going out to Dubai and Indonesia where it's 40 degrees.
"Now I've got back into Europe I feel much more comfortable and I've settled into the Tour pretty well.
