Karrie Webb had not won a title for 13 months |
Karrie Webb shot a four-under-par 66 to win the John Q Hammons Hotel Classic in Oklahoma by a massive nine strokes. It is the first LPGA title in more than a year for the 28-year-old Australian and the 29th of her career.
Five birdies in the final round at the Tulsa Country Club saw Webb ease home on 10 under par, with Dorothy Delasin, Candie Kung, Tammie Green and Jamie Hullett tied for second.

Defending champion Annika Sorenstam, playing for the first time in three weeks, shot a 68 to finish tied for 10th place. Britain's Donna Andrews was the closest challenger to Webb when she trailed by three strokes at four under just after the turn, but she double-bogeyed the 10th and finished two over for the tournament.
"I just wanted to win so badly this year," said Webb. "I didn't want to be shut out for the first time in my career.
"I was glad that I had a nine-shot lead coming down the last because I didn't have to think too much."
