A very well-deserved goal for Drogba - the least they deserve for pressing Argentina so hard

Argentina's style of play suits England nicely . Its pacy upper -evel Champions league stuff that all our players are used to and excel at . Plus, we've beaten them the last two occasions we've played them with a 4-2 aggregate, so it would be a cracking well-matched game.

I too think a fit and running Rooney included in the England squad will beat Argentina. arg v eng is more like grudge match...Terry and Ferdinand will be too strong for the likes of Crespo and Saviola etc. Englands midfield will equally battle it out up and down the pitch. That's where David Beckham's long-range curls come in. That's also where Owen's pace comes in. Do not underestimate England.

Argentina's quality is clearly a different class to the Ivory Coast. The Ivory Coast players dribble well and seem to break the Argies down, but are consantly let down by a poor final ball or finishing. The Argies on the other hand, with Riquilme, whose delivery is impeccable and Crespo and others who are deadly finishers, only need a free kick here and there or a few good touches and it turns into goals.
The thing is though, if Argentina allow teams who HAVE got good finishers the same amount of space in midfield that they've allowed the Ivory Coast, they'll be in trouble.

Argentina are showing me that my 5 wager on them at 8/1 to win the whole thing is looking a good investment. Riquelme is showing his class, the pass for the 2nd goal was sublime.
2104: LFC Benitez
HERNAN CRESPO is currently winning the CRESPO vs DROGBA battle. Although I think that Drogba will score to make it 2-1. Before Argetnina net 2 more to win 4-1
2058: The Genius of Roo
Are we watching the winners here? Nobody can live with this kind of football.
2057: Pointofblue
I thought Ivory Coast would put up a bit more of a fight. Indeed they did until the first goal went in. Come on Ivory! Teams have come back from 2-0 behind before.
2046: Engerland Nanana
Riquelme looks truly amazing today - would love to see him at Man United ! What a pass.
2024: TH14 The Man
Argentina are playing some neat stuff. Organized, pretty stuff and deadly on the counter. Look a different class to England. They deserve the lead.
2015: Cold War Kid
Five games in and the first controversial moment. That defintely looked over the line.
2005: Calidad
What a game. Two quality teams going at it. Can't wait to see Messi, Tevez and even Palacio.
1957: LFCBenitez
Well I think that this match will show who is better- Crespo or Drogba. They will both show who can play better. I'm surprised that people haven't been talking more about Crespo vs Drogba in the build-up to this match
1943: Bluevaio
I once heard Ronaldo say that Argentina were the biggest sledgers in the game. They use every means... verbally and physically to get into the opponents heads. I wonder if IC can cope that sort of psychological warfare?
1923: Bestie07
Here is a tip for you all... Javier Saviola is 80/1 with Tote to grab the golden boot... If he scores today expect him to stay in the side with Messi coming in for Rodriguez...
1921: Roberto Rivelino
Well said, guys. I think we will finally see some football. Looking at the strikers the defences will win the matches. Picking a winner from this group will not be easy. I am going for a draw today and the game tomorrow as well. All teams will have a point each by tomorrow. This group will go to the wire. Bring it on.
1919: The Genius of Roo
It will be close but it will be the Argentinians. Watch out for Zokora, he's a real star. Its just a shame they are in the group of death.
1917: Shimmyshimmy
Argentina for the win but it should be extremely tight with lots of quality on display, can't wait!
1914: Taxi Driver
Cant WAIT for this CRACKER... Finally a game to savour between two sides that can play REAL football... (for more than 40 minutes).
