Hunt demands mental improvement

Hunt hopes plenty of Reading fans will make the trip to Watford

Reading winger Stephen Hunt believes the team have to improve their mental attitude to start winning on the road.

The Royals are yet to win away from home this season, having lost 2-0 to Ipswich last Saturday and this weekend they go to Watford.

The Republic of Ireland international told BBC Radio Berkshire: "Our desire and mental attitude [need to improve].

"I don't think we had that as a team last Saturday and it was there for everyone to see."

The 27-year-old added: "We could have done better and I could have done better myself. I had two games away with Ireland, but I'd never use that as an excuse.

"At Watford hopefully we'll have a big following - it's not too far away and that should help us get more fans there and some vocal backing.

"We're fourth in the league now and there's a six-point gap between us and the top of the league, which is a bit disappointing.

"But we'll have a good game on Saturday and hopefully that will get us closer."
