Derby County defender Alan Stubbs will miss the last two games of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The 36-year-old centre-back will sit out Saturday's away match at Blackburn Rovers and the final home fixture of the season against Reading.
With the Rams already relegated, boss Paul Jewell wanted to get Stubbs fit for the start of next season's Championship promotion push.
Stubbs joined the club from Everton in the January transfer window.
